Simple Hacks Morning Edition

With the days now getting longer and daylight savings time creeping up, it can feel like getting out of bed in the morning is an impossible task. While some are naturally morning people, it’s a huge challenge for others just to get out of bed and start the day. For those people who consistently hit that snooze button, we have some hacks morning edition to get your day started the right way:

Put Your Alarm in Another Room

For those people who have to be dragged out of bed in the morning, this one is a sure-fire way to get you out of bed. Placing your alarm in a different room forces you out of bed and functioning to turn off the nuisance. Standing upright and getting the blood flowing will help wake you up, and get ready for the day.

Drink Some Water

Drinking a glass of water at the very start of your day can help your brain and metabolism get going at full speed. Keep a HYDAWAY bottle on your bedside table so you can take sips throughout the night and as soon as you get out of bed. Don’t forget to drink water periodically throughout the day as well, to stay alert and hydrated.

Take a Short Walk

While some people are able to get up and go for a run first thing in the morning, we know this definitely is not the case for all. Taking a short walk, even if it’s just around your backyard, to check your mail, or to walk the dog, can be enough to get your blood flowing and avoid the instinct to crawl back into bed.

Make Your Bed

This may seem silly, but making your bed can make a huge impact on how the rest of your day goes. This simple chore creates a sense of accomplishment first thing in the morning, which in turn makes it easier for you to tackle harder challenges throughout the day. A made bed makes your room feel neat and tidy, encouraging other good habits to follow. Plus, it’s harder to crawl back into bed after it’s made.

Prepare for the Next Day the Night Before

One of the most stressful and time-consuming processes in the morning is making decisions that impact the rest of the day.  The simplest way to streamline the process is to cut out the morning decisions altogether. It’s difficult to make decisions when you’re still tired, so don’t make any at all. Make your lunch and breakfast ahead of time and set out your clothes the night before. Pack your bags with everything you need and don’t forget to pack your HYDAWAY water bottle!

Use Lighting to Your Advantage

When you go to bed at night, try opening the blinds a bit. This will allow the natural light to seep in and help you to wake up gradually with the sunlight. If it’s still dark when the alarm goes off, try setting some soft light, bedside lamps on a timer. That way, they’ll turn on and gradually increase to wake you up gently.

We know that for some people waking up can be the most difficult part of the day. Here at HYDAWAY, we want to help you live a healthy and simplified lifestyle. We hope these morning edition hacks help you kick star your morning.
